This chapel is part of a mortuary complex that includes a chapel, reception halls and a documentation centre on bereavement. Its design is inspired by two brilliant canvases by painter Guido Molinari entitled “Vent bleu”. Inspired by the artist’s personal approach, this project explores the concepts of dualism and contradiction that we all embody.


Playing with false symmetry where, with slight transformations, two different shapes appear identical, the imperfection of human perception is revealed. The axis of symmetry symbolizes the thin line that separates the living from the dead: two opposite worlds.
