The owners of a five-story, Villeray house felt a bit cramped in their first-floor dwelling. They chose to use one of the second floor’s apartments in order to expand their living space.


The clients wanted to reshape their existing dark and compartmentalized spaces to create a new open concept space that would bring in a generous amount of natural light.


Henceforth, the first floor became a vast, open loft-style space, directly connected with the second floor by means of a spectacular double height opening. The addition of a vertical window allowed for the light to penetrate deeply into the interior space.
